ON ILHAN OMAR
There was a haze on the mass media space recently. The social media was awash with "fans fog" in celebration of the new "first-second" female Muslim in Congress -Ilhan Omar. She is being celebrated by left leaning media and Muslims. The New York Times reported her story with her picture covering many of its pages. But what exactly are we celebrating in Ilhan Omar? Her skin color? The hope that accompanies her story? Or is the whole ecstatic story just a mirage? An illusion?
From the comment of Muslims around the world on the social media, the political leaning of deep religiosity is clearly stated. Ilhan is a "hijabi" and she is in the most powerful legislature in the world. Okay fine. But is that all about the noise? Maybe.
Ilhan Omar is an American citizen pursuing an agenda that I know will put democracy to test and be responsible for its failure. In 2018, Ilhan promised that she will fight for the rights of LGBTQ+ in the country's capital. She said so in response to her endorsement by the Human Rights Campaign (HRC), the nation’s largest lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and queer (LGBTQ) civil rights organization, on October 18, 2018. “I will fight for LGBTQIA+ rights in Washington D.C., and together, we will raise our voices against those who seek to divide us with hate and bigotry.”
First, the rights of the LGBTQIA+ she claims that she will protect is much guaranteed for more than the right to freedom of religion which is a major concern. Catholic nuns were forced violate their faith and pay for abortion-inducing birth control. The "gay cake case" should not have reached the Supreme Court at all. Remember the gay cake case in which a heavy cost was almost awarded? The Ashers bakery, owned by Christian family, refused to put up the sign "Support Gay Marriage" on a cake ordered for by some gay guy. It became a campaign. A litigation followed. The legal action was originally brought against family-run Ashers bakery in Belfast by gay rights activist Gareth Lee. He won his case initially in the county court and then at the Northern Ireland Court of Appeal. The right to freedom of speech and conscience is on its way out of the window. Ilhan's agenda in Washington is to push gay rights beyond the fringe of protected rights. The political journey of the Democratic Party is towards a totalitarian state that can force anyone to do anything.
Be careful what, for its religious coloration, you support.
Ilhan is also antisemitic. One peculiarity in the media attention she is getting is a visible unwillingness to scrutinize her intelligence. I don't think she has a good mind. She has tweeted about her convictions which apparently, were typical of what every close-minded person understands about the Israelis. Not different from the covictions of Islamic terrorists who are vehemently opposed to Israel like the Hamas and Al-Qaeda in the Islamic Maghreb which on January 20, 2018 attacked targets in Chad a retaliation for the recent visit to Chad by Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and the normalization of diplomatic relations.
In a recent interview with CNN, Ilhan's specious comments pointed to her lack of depth about the government shutdown. All she said were simple basic facts about the showdown between the White House and the Congress. A friend joked that all she said could be found on twitter. Her antisemitism was brought to bare when she accused Israel of crimes in the 2014 Gaza Conflict -none of which she mentioned. She simply repeated what Hamas said and that's all. She didn't acknowledge the fact that several hundreds of rockets were fired into Israel by Hamas and killing many Israeli citizens. That Israel repeatedly warned Hamas. That precision strikes were conducted by Israel to halt missile attacks. That Israel dropped millions of leaflets to Gaza to ask civilians to leave so and so places. That Israel sent text messages and posted tens of thousands of phone calls to residents along the border informing them of the places where Israeli bombs will be dropped. That Israel aborted much of its strikes against the Hamas to avoid civilian casualties. All of those actions places Israel Defense Force as the most reasonably benign military force in history. One would think a Congressman would have studied sensitive issues and be better at analysis than the shallow rants typical of the average Arab illiterate. And that's what we are celebrating twenty years into the 21st century?
